User Guide: Getting Started

Welcome to Text me app! This is a multiplatform mobile phone messaging service that uses your phone's internet connection to chat with otherText me app users.

Before you download and install Text me app, make sure Text me app supports your phone type. 

To download Text me app, visit this link on your phone. Once installed, ensure that the friends who you wish to message have Text me app installed on their phones. If they do not show up under the Favorites screen (Contacts tab on Android), carefully add their numbers to your phone contacts:

1. Enter the number the same as you would if you were to make a phone call to that person. Double check to make sure you entered the number correctly.
2. If this is an international phone number, do not use any exit codes or leading 0s. Start all international phone numbers with a + sign, followed by the country code. For specific examples and instructions, see this article.
3. Open Text me app and refresh your Favorites list (Contacts tab on Android).

Now that this contact is visible inText me app, select their name and click on it. You can message your friend and also send them media via the options in the chat screen. Happy chatting!

Check marks will appear next to each message you send. Here is what each one indicates:

•  message successfully sent.
•  message successfully delivered to the recipient's phone.
•  the recipient has read your message.

In a group chat, the second check marks will appear when all participants in the group have received your message. The two blue check marks will appear when all participants in the group have read your message.

If you only see a single check mark next to your message, there is likely nothing wrong with WhatsApp or your phone. There may be several reasons why your message has been sent, but not delivered to your chat partner:

• Their phone might be off.
• They could be sleeping, especially if they live in a different time zone.
• They might be experiencing network connection issues.
• They might have seen the notification on their screen, but did not launch the app
